Conco’s Commitment to Safety First

At The Conco Companies, we are not just talk when it comes to our commitment to safety. It is something we strive toward every single day.  Our team of safety and risk professionals work together with company managers as well as the entire workforce to eliminate and mitigate all construction and “over the road” related risks. We want to provide our customers, the general public, and every employee the safest and most efficient construction and trucking services in the industry.

An excellent example of Conco’s ongoing commitment to safety was during our remarkable accomplishment breaking the world record for the largest continuous mat pour early this year. While we are enormously proud of breaking the world record for the pour, we are even prouder of doing it safely.  By bringing together our team of dedicated professionals who put together a well-thought out plan, we implemented the pour flawlessly.  Our entire team from every level worked together to execute the plan perfectly, and the best part was that we accomplished this historic event without a single injury.

We are really proud of this fact and continue in our efforts to ensure a safe workplace. Conco is pleased to report that our pumping division completed 2013 without a single lost time accident, and our goal is to repeat this performance every year.  To achieve this goal, we make it mandatory that all Conco pump operators attain American Concrete Pumping Association (ACPA) certification.  The training must be completed every two years and covers all operational and safety issues that may be encountered by crews.  Pump operators are taught to operate equipment safely and to protect those that work around the pump.

Conco doesn’t stop there. All of our boom pumps and Telebelts are inspected yearly by certified boom pump inspectors.  The inspection ensures the structural integrity of the equipment we operate.  We also track boom pipe cumulative yardage pumped so that pipes can be changed on a regular basis to avoid pipe failures in the field.  Furthermore Conco protects those working behind the concrete pumps by equipping the boom pumps with a transition cover in case of an unforeseen pipe elbow blowout.

For over 50 years, Conco has been providing premium concrete services and is one of the most trusted concrete contractors in Seattle. We partner with clients on every project from the pre-construction stage right through to final completion to maximize efficiency and ensure goals and budgets are met. Our concrete services include commercial, educational, parking and other construction development as well as public works projects.
